Open
Houses on future of garbage and recycling programs
Apr 11 2006
Let’s Talk Trash! Planning for the future of our garbage.
Want more plastics accepted in your blue bag? More frequent yard waste
pickup? Better recycling programs for apartment
buildings? Or a better way to recycle construction waste – and
save money?
Then join us at an Open House near you to have your say in the future
of garbage and recycling programs in your community.
Your input will help create short and long term plans to help Central
Okanagan residents and businesses reduce and manage waste and conserve
space in local landfills. It is an important part of writing a new
Regional Solid Waste Management Plan which our community will use to
develop new waste reduction strategies.
As a community organization we appreciate your help in spreading the
word to your members about our Open House events. Some easy examples
are:
· Share this information at your next meeting
· Print out the attached poster and display in public location
· Add the info to community signboards
· Forward the attached poster to your members by email
· Include an article in your next newsletter
· Post the attached poster on your website
· Post the information on your website home page
To help you do this, we have attached a WORD document and some artwork that you can use in your newsletter or on your website. This info is
also pasted below.
If you have any questions, please contact the Regional Waste Reduction
Office at 469-6250 or email us at: solidwasteplan@earthtech.ca
Thank you for helping us to spread the word. We look forward to seeing
you at one of our Open House events!
Thank you!
Carol Suhan, MBA PR
