 PESTICIDE NOTIFICATION REGISTRY… PLEASE SIGN UP NOW!
EarthCare has spent several years of effort to ensure your ‘right to know’ through the establishment of the Pesticide Notification Registry. Pesticides are poisons that are designed to kill, and they can cause harm to you, your children and your pets. The registry allows you to be notified of spraying and be able to take precautions such as closing windows, covering playthings and restricting pets from walking on treated lawns. This will ensure that you, your family and pets can be protected.
The City of Kelowna has established a Commercial Pesticide Notification Registry for residential property owners who wish to be informed when commercial spray operations (using pesticides including herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and rodenticides) are occurring on abutting residential properties. The registry is for residents within the City of Kelowna only.
Notification only applies when commercial spray operators are applying pesticides to residential properties, and is not applicable if a resident or neighbouring agricultural property is applying the pesticides.

You must provide your name, phone number and address, including your postal code.
Please indicate if you would like Previous Day Notification or Same Day Notification and indicate your reason, or reasons, for being added to the registry. Reasons can include: kids in yard, pets in yard, garden, pond, windows open, organic fruit trees, bird feeders, patio furniture, health and wellness or other.
YOU ARE REQUIRED TO REGISTER EACH YEAR
Registrants must re-register every year to remain on the “Pesticide Notification Registry”. Residents must register by March 15th to be on the registry for 2006.
REGISTERING AFTER THE DEADLINE:
You can register after the deadline but there is a one month delay in getting on the list. We encourage you to call the Pesticide Spray company and request immediate notification of spraying. Should you experience any problems please feel free to call EarthCare at 861-4788.
